Message I've proven (to myself) that at 19psi I make less power than I do at 16psi. It is because at 19psi, the ignition timing has to be so retarded to avoid detonation, that the power drops more than what you can make at 16psi running more advanced timing (more efficient, cooler and denser charge). When I went from 19psi at 25 degrees of timing to 16psi at 33 degrees of timing, I went from low 13's to mid/upper 12's in the 1/4.
